Join Us

Casey’s Place membership is free and open to grieving children and teens ages 7-17 who have experienced the death of a parent or guardian.

Gatherings take place once a month, on Saturday mornings, in Rockport, MA and include a complimentary lunch.

Our gatherings begin with a group exercise, and then transition to age-based small-group sessions during which members come together with trained volunteers to participate in art, games, and other age-appropriate activities that teach and support strategies for coping with grief. After small-group sessions end, lunch begins, followed by a closing routine.

We are currently serving the communities of Beverly, Danvers, Essex, Gloucester, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Rockport.

Please reach out to us at info@caseysplacema.org if you have questions.

Volunteering with Casey’s Place

Our volunteers are the driving force behind Casey’s Place and our goal to make every child grieving the loss of parent or guardian feel embraced and supported. There’s more than one way to contribute.

Right now, our most pressing need is for volunteers to join our monthly Saturday Gatherings . In this role, you’ll be directly supporting Casey’s Place members ages 7-17 by acting as a confidant they can share their grief with. You’ll also be helping to create a safe space for our members by supervising and facilitating meeting activities. You don’t need any special training, nor do you need to have lost a parent or guardian as a child yourself. All we ask is that you come with an open heart and arms.

If you’d like to donate your time in other ways, we’re always looking for volunteers to help us fundraise, donate supplies, and perform outreach to Rockport, Gloucester, Ipswich, and Essex to reach children and teens who can benefit from our services.

To volunteer for our Saturday Gatherings, you will need to fill out the Volunteer Application form online. If accepted as a volunteer, you will be asked to complete a State of Massachusetts Criminal Offender Records Information (CORI) form.

We’re also happy to answer any questions—just send us an email at info@caseysplacema.org.
